Earl is a second year legal practitioner at Van der Spuy & Partners in the Commercial Department.
He grew up in George where he matriculated from Outeniqua High School after which he obtained his LL.B degree at the Stellenbosch University. During his second year, he discovered his passion for people and community development which lead him, together with a group of fellow students, to start a community outreach programme focused on enabling learners in underprivileged communities to qualify for tertiary education. Earl lived out his passion for the law by serving as chair of the Stellenbosch University Student Court and working as a student consultant at the Stellenbosch Legal Aid Clinic
Earl also served on the house committee at Dagbreek Men’s Residence where he was responsible for the community interaction and critical engagement portfolios. During his stint as house committee member, he co-founded the Dempers Meyer Mentorship programme aimed at youth empowerment.
Earl has a particular interest in Labour Law within the context of South Africa.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading, attending theatre shows and socialising with friends and family.
